VivaAerobus is currently searching for an Strategic Planning Manager.
As the Strategic Planning Manager, you will lead the definition and execution of the company's strategy, ensuring its alignment with the organization’s vision and long-term ambitions. Leveraging relevant data and insights, you will identify opportunities and challenges to drive sustainable growth and maintain the company’s competitive edge. You will be responsible for designing comprehensive strategic plans, collaborating with various business units for seamless implementation, and continuously monitoring performance to ensure agility in a rapidly changing business environment. Your efforts will focus on maximizing long-term business success by maintaining and updating growth and enabling initiatives.
Your derivables will be:
- Lead the formulation, review, and continuous update of the airline’s strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision and objectives.
- Define clear, measurable, and achievable strategic goals and objectives, along with the initiatives (in collaboration with relevant stakeholders) that will help the company achieve these goals.
- Establish tracking and control mechanisms to monitor strategy progress and its initiatives, adjusting as necessary.
- Effectively communicate strategy and objectives across all levels of the organization.
- Maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment and commitment across all business areas.
- Lead top-tier market studies and analyses required to refine strategy.
- Lead initiatives within the Transformation department, providing mentorship to junior team members and ensuring high-quality, consistent outputs within a collaborative, high-performance environment.
Our Ideal Candidate:
This is a Manager-level position, based in Monterrey or Mexico City (CDMX).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Business Development.
- 5+ years of experience in consulting, commercial, or strategic roles.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) proficiency is mandatory.
- Proven experience conducting thorough analyses of internal and external environments, identifying opportunities and challenges, and defining strategic goals aligned with the company’s vision.
- Experience collaborating across departments, establishing tracking mechanisms, and fostering a strong execution culture.
- Expertise in maintaining effective communication channels and strong relationships with all stakeholders, promoting alignment and employee commitment.
- Ability to build financial models based on the company’s operational and financial frameworks, identifying and projecting key variables and inputs, and using model outputs to inform strategic initiatives.
- Skilled in organizing high-level executive events (C-level), producing valuable insights for strategic discussions, and leading meetings that foster enriching dialogue on key topics.
- Proficient in using strategic analysis tools and models (e.g., Shibumi, Wave).
- This role requires deep industry knowledge, strategic and analytical skills, the ability to solve complex problems under pressure, and excellent stakeholder management, from the CEO to analysts across departments.
