About the Area
Corporate and Investment Banking (C&IB) is a key piece within the BBVA Mexico Group, where we participate as a single team, along with the other Areas, providing value by serving the segment of the largest companies in Mexico. Our main responsibility focuses on developing the bank's relationship with our clients, advising them on their financial risk needs, funding and growth strategies.
About the Position
Purpuse of the position:
• Assist the TB Branch Manager in defining the business strategy with certain clients, specifically Chinese costumer base.
Main Activities
• Managing a portfolio of global clients
• Represent BBVA with domestic and multinationals customer companies, assuming the banker role with subsidiaries of MNCs not covered by global Bankers
• Identify and generate new business opportunities with existing clients and expand the geographic reach of the customer’s relationships.
• Visit and call on clients proactively, generally accompanied by product specialists, offering transactional products that could improve their day-to-day activity.
• Draft pitches and review legal documentation of agreements in collaboration with Legal CIB
• Negotiate deals, renew credit lines and help the Bankers to renew financial programmes. Evaluate and asses current and potential returns and make pricing decisions in collaboration with the Pricing Specialist
• Manage account overdrafts, notifying the overrun to the affected customers and offering them different facilities to regularise debit positions
• Liaise and work alongside with other CIB front units in order to increase cross-selling and CIB support units for the deal execution
• Undertake an annual review of customer product and services’ price list in collaborating with the Middle Office
• Understand the creditworthiness of each client, register the proposal in the risk management tool and participate in different committees in order to defend credit proposals and get Risks’ approval.
• Monitor and check, in coordination with global and local product specialists, how the transaction services and products set up for a specific customer works.
• Supervise and support the Middle Office with incidences that may occur
• Use the Client Relationship Management systems timely and accurately for pipeline and profitability reporting.
About you (Profile):
We are looking for talent with solid experience in negotiation, management and development of commercial relationships with the management levels of Chinese clients (Companies, Corporates, Multinationals).
Preferably have education and professional experience directly in China. The experience and knowledge in the development of the commercial-financial relationship and the negotiation culture with Clients who have HQ in China.
Education:
It is necessary to have studies at a bachelor's level, related to administration, economics, business or finance.
Ideally: master's level studies, related to business or finance.
Languages:
Chinese language proficiency (native level – It is an essential requirement)
English and/or Spanish.
Required experience:
- Ideally 3 to 5 years of experience in the banking industry, or in financial fields (treasury, investments, purchasing, business development, Commercial Alliances, financial control, accounting or similar).
- Experience in negotiating agreements, identifying financial-economic needs, and covering these with banking products and services.
- Living experience in China is required, you must have lived at least 10 years in China.
Skills:
- Negotiation, attention to the needs of business and/or corporate clients, Executive Commercial Presentations. Teamwork, Internal management.
- Ideally, knowledge of financial analysis, credit analysis, customer portfolio management, banking financial products and services.
