The purpose of this job is to manage the corporate finance activity in the IMa perimeter, to promote efficient use of capital and participate to the expansion & refocusing effort of the AXA Group in the emerging markets.

Job purpose
The Corporate Finance team is in charge of two main areas of activities:
- Coordinating all mergers and acquisitions (M&A) related activity (acquisitions, large partnerships, disposals, internal restructurings, etc.) including the sourcing, assessment, target identification, internal alignment, and approval process for the IMa perimeter. The team is also in charge of leading the execution of transactions below EUR 20m group share
- Coordinating the capital management activities within International Markets perimeter which contributed to the delivery of more than EUR 350m cumulated remittance over 2021-2023. Cash generation is one of the strategic priorities of AXA Group.
The Corporate Finance Associate, attached to a Corporate Finance manager, will actively contribute to the strategic assessment and execution of the transactions in his perimeter, with a high level of autonomy expected in the execution. She/He will gradually takes the responsibility over the execution of transactions delegated to International Markets CEO (below EUR 20m) and contribute to coordinate the regional support & governance for larger transaction led by AXA Group Corporate Finance team. Furthermore, she/he will also contribute to the monitoring of capital management activities.
Main Responsibilities
External growth project sourcing & strategic alignment:
- Support local teams in sourcing & assessing new M&A opportunities, in line with the AXA Group strategy, and the priorities of the International Markets and AXA Group top management
- Challenge the quality of the strategic analysis, along with Strategy Group (GCD) and DCFG teams, in the Quick Screen document
Actively contribute to the M&A activity for the IMa perimeter
- Contribute with a high-level of autonomy to the execution of M&A files delegated to the IMa teams (business plan preparation, due diligence monitoring & coordination, internal and external stakeholders’ management, preparation of offers in line with adequate governance, participate in contractual negotiation with legal teams)
- Support DCFG & coordinate the eventual support of IM teams (eg. in due diligence phases) in larger M&A projects. Help IMa top management ensuring appropriate challenge to DCFG, including in the validation of the BP & financial offers
- Prepare the Business Plan and subsequent valuation of the target
- Monitor of the due-diligence exercise, ensuring appropriate input from AXA IMa stakeholders (local and central teams), as well as external advisors (actuarial, financial, tax, etc.)
- Participate in the drafting / negotiation of contractual documents
Support capital management activity for the IM perimeter
- Organize the Capital Allocation meetings (Capall), challenge the entities´ dividend distribution capacity or capital injections needs based on Group standards
- Monitor the cash management of the IMa holding company
- Execute capital optimization plans on an ad-hoc basis
Expected Skills and Experience
- 2/3 years experience in M&A or Corporate Finance
- Knowledge of insurance and / or financial institutions
- Project management skills including the capability to handle several projects at once
- Quantitative, analytical and problem-solving skills in finance (accounting, company valuation)
- Good understanding of the specificities of insurance companies' financials (solvency requirements, technical margin analysis, etc.)
- Understanding of actuarial, accounting, tax, legal and regulatory concepts
- Strong motivation, ability to work long hours
- Ability to interact optimally with stakeholders of different seniority levels
- Team spirit
- Proficient English - French is a plus
