What do we expect from you?
You will work within the Cepsa’s JV project for the construction in Huelva of the largest second-generation biofuels plant in southern Europe. This plant, which we’ll build together with Bio-Oils, will produce 500,000 tons of SAF and renewable diesel per year. This project is one of the levers of Cepsa’s strategy, Positive Motion. You will be responsible for providing legal advice and support to the organization on legal and regulatory matters. Your main objective is to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations, minimize legal risks and protect the interests of the company.
Functions:
- Legal advice to the business: elaborate opinions, queries, doubts about contracts, corporate matters, regulatory issues, legislation, pre-litigation situations, etc.
- Legal advice in project negotiations and the development of new activities.
- Research and analyze relevant laws, regulations and judicial precedents to ensure that the company complies with applicable legal standards.
- Drafting and negotiation of all types of contracts and documents, corporate documents, monitoring of projects and operations in the sector, resolving legal issues that arise therefrom and compliance with applicable regulations.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers and business partners.
- Conduct internal and external legal investigations as necessary to resolve disputes or legal issues.
- Stay up to date on changes in relevant legislation and regulations and assess their impact on company’s operations.
- Identification and prevention of legal risks specific to the sector and the operations carried out.
- Represent the company in litigation, arbitration or other legal processes, or collaborate with external lawyers if necessary.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that business plans and strategies meet legal requirements.
What are we looking for?
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree on Business and/or Law or other closely related professional qualification.
- 6+ years post qualifying experience operating in strategic roles.
- Excellent knowledge of the mechanics of regulation and a regulated business.
- Ability to quickly grasp, synthesise and retain significant industry knowledge.
- Strong influencing skills and a track record of influencing effectively at senior level.
- Excellent commercial awareness.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to provide coaching and direction to senior and junior professionals.
- Experience managing, overseeing and delivering projects of scale.
