Job Description
The Head of IT Service Delivery is a senior IT leader responsible for translating business and functional demands into programs and projects that maximize IT investments and drive business outcomes.
Leading a team of Delivery Managers, this role oversees resource planning, capacity management, and demand execution, ensuring efficient allocation and team performance. They monitor portfolio progress, resolve conflicts, and ensure compliance with established Application Development and Project Management frameworks.
The Head of IT Service Delivery supports vendor selection processes (RFP/RFQ), participates in governance boards, and collaborates across IT, business units, and external partners. Additionally, they ensure effective financial management and resource utilization across the portfolio.
Specific responsibilities:
- Engage with demand management to build the delivery pipeline and roadmap.
- Confirm portfolio priorities with IT Product Owners and collaborate with IT Finance for financial management.
- Optimize team capacity, ensuring Delivery Managers are allocated effectively to demands.
- Lead and manage the team, set objectives, and evaluate individual performance.
- Supervise Delivery Managers to maximize business outcomes.
- Participate in governance boards; oversee and track portfolio delivery against scope, time, budget, and quality.
- Manage dependencies across portfolios and within IT.
- Act as an escalation point to support decision-making and resolve conflicts.
- Provide visibility into investments and track IT budget spending across the portfolio.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Proven experience managing complex projects throughout their lifecycle.
