What You Will Do
The role of Head of People & Culture for Nu Mexico is responsible for the P&C function for the country, supporting ~1,000 employees across multiple business areas including Core, Marketing & Growth, Operations & Enterprise Functions (P&C, Finance, Legal, Compliance, Policy, Internal Audit, Risk & AML). Acting as a leader on the Mexico leadership team, this role provides support to the Country Manager and other Senior Leaders, driving the People agenda to drive business results.
The Main Duties Of This Position Concern
- Drive the strategic People Plan for the business unit;
- Advise and coach the Country manager and all senior leaders on how to achieve the company's objectives by implementing solutions regarding all People & Culture topics;
- Lead a team of 3 direct reports and oversee the whole P&C function in the country, with around 20 P&Cers;
- Coach leaders on People processes, such as performance management cycles, leadership development, compensation, culture & engagement, talent acquisition, and conflict management;
- Work closely to the HR Business Partners Leads to roll out people strategy for our Mexico business unit;
- Partner with Centers of Expertise (COEs) on people-related services such as benefits, compensation, employee services, recruitment, talent management, people operations, D&I, Facilities, among others;
- Oversees the whole employee journey in the country, driving improvements to enhance Nubankers experience;
- Build trusting relationships and influence key stakeholders;
- Analyze trends and metrics of the P&C;
- Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention;
- Act as a subject matter expert in terms of Mexico specifics for people's agenda, such as legislation, market trends, and practice;
- Monitor and report on workforce and succession planning;
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum of 15 years of experience as HRBP or P&C-related roles;
- Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry in Mexico (tech-hyper growth would be a plus);
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize competing demands;
- Solid stakeholder management and influencing skills across the organization;
- Analytical and problem-solving skills: ability to peek inside data sets and take creative approaches to problems using that insight;
- Ability to effectively influence and drive toward results in a fast-paced environment;
- Strong communication, negotiation, and conflict-management skills and experience;
- Ability to effectively communicate and also deliver training sessions in English;
- Ability to deep dive into data analysis and support fact-based decision-making;
- Business Acumen: understanding the business functions, OKRs, priorities and the business risks and opportunities;
- Fluency in English and Spanish is mandatory. Portuguese would be a plus.
