Responsibilities The Opportunity: The R&D Packaging Engineer role will develop and execute packaging programs to deliver against PepsiCo’s Innovation, Productivity, Brand Stewardship and Sustainability agenda in LAB Mex, LAB North and LAB Central and broader. Your Impact: As R&D Packaging Sr Engineer your responsibilities would consist of Supports and flawlessly implements projects in support of PepsiCo AOP goals for LATAM beverages. Translates consumer needs, financial targets, product protection requirements and production line performance into design/technical performance requirements and specifications. Defines protocols, risk assessments and methodologies to implement projects within planned timelines and PepsiCo quality standards. Generates required documentation and specifications to release the production of new packages. Lead the technical stage assessment of packaging sustainability projects and recommends projects for advancement to the next stage via analysis of technical data, considering the tasks and actions performed, and the impact of foreseen risks. Collects, analyzes and interprets data from the development process and translates it into actions to provide technical solutions and approvals in stage gate process. Coordinates communications with the cross-functional team, including: suppliers, bottler personnel, external consultants, and internal PepsiCo personnel. Coordinates and executes the assessment of production lines at FOBOs and COBOs, analyzes the requirements to implement the new packages, and supervises the compliance of the required action. Continuously scouts, appraises and diagnoses new technologies from all sources that aid in improving the consumer experience or the financial impact of packaging. Qualifications Who Are We Looking For? Education BS in Industrial Design, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Food Engineering. Experience Minimum experience of 2-3 years in related roles Structural design experience Previous experience in the development/execution and leadership of packaging programs Knowledge of commonly used beverage packaging materials and formats. Knowledge of packaging materials, manufacturing and packaging processes. Experience in project management Fluent bi-lingual capability (English/Spanish) Working knowledge of specification processes and systems development Experience in managing innovation, productivity, business continuity and sustainability projects.
