The area is in charge to lead the management of Operational Risks and Internal Control framework across all IMa entities, adapting when needed to Emerging Markets specificities. Monitoring the accomplishment of AXA Standards and Group requirements.
Primary mission:
- To ensure that a consistent framework is in place to systematically identify, measure, mitigate, report and monitor the most significant operational risks throughout IMa Entities and in the Regional Platform.
- To support IMa entities to establish and strengthen the Operational Risk and Internal Control frameworks, holding the risk internal model and Group guidelines implementation in each Entity;
- To ensure Internal Control framework is implemented across IMa entities and at Regional Platform level;
- To set remediation actions to tackle deficiencies.
- To alert TOP management about new issues and evolution of risks and controls.
Main tasks should be:
- Animate and drive IMa Internal Control Community and ensure information and decision are shared to:
1.Provide support and assistance to IMa entities in Internal Control framework matters: identification of controls, full review and challenge on their assessment – from both, 1st line and 2nd line of defense, reporting into Group’s tool, remediation actions follow-up, regular evaluation, etc.
2.Ensure issues escalation and management process is defined, efficient and aligned to AXA Group Internal Control Guidelines.
3.Maintain an active role on awareness of internal control best practices and regulatory developments.
4.Contribute to prepare, organize and manage quarterly committees on Internal Control.
5Organize the Internal Control Quality Reviews with respective reporting to TOP management on recommendations and action plan.
- Coordinate, support and supervise the Operational Risk Framework with:
1.A proactive identification of main Operational Risks on a regular basis, alongside with remediation actions to mitigate their impact;
2.A consistent quantification exercise, to determine the required the local economic capital charge (STEC)
3.A close follow-up of action plans to detect delays or incomplete mitigation tasks proposed by the business lines
4.A clear coordination of Key Risk Indicators dashboard in order to create early-warnings
5.A fluid relationship built with other control functions (Compliance, Legal, Information Security, etc.) and the rest of lines of defense (Business Lines and Internal Audit) to receive the alerts of new risks, controls failing, activity change and new projects.
6.Supervision on incidents and losses across IMa entities and Regional Platform
7.Regular trainings to local teams and IMa entities to increase risk awareness.
8.An active participation in Risk Committees or equivalent
- Develop Operational Risks & Internal Control function as a “One-Voice” control function, linking both frameworks (risk & controls, along with action plans and risk appetite)
- According to AXA guidelines, coordinate Operational Risk Appetite (tolerance levels & escalation limits) across IMa entities .
- Review and consolidate Operational Risks & Internal Control deliveries reported to AXA Group.
Profile:
Basic background:
Bachelor in Statistics, Actuarial, Economics or Business Administration with professional English level and high user level of Microsoft applications (mainly Excel and Power point)
Senior profile with internal control and/or operational risks background, good analytics skills.
Line of business Operations knowledge
Understanding of insurance, financial, risk management and mitigation controls

Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate findings, win supporters and move people and organizations to action
Experience in the insurance or financial sector
