Within the Group, you will join the Group Chief Underwriting Office as Portfolio Management Actuary.
Your job and daily missions:
Context & Major Challenges
The newly created Global Chief Underwriting Office will be accountable for establishing, enabling, and driving profit and growth through Product Underwriting Strategy, Portfolio Design and Technical Underwriting Excellence in partnership with the AXA Entities, for both Commercial and Retail, through:
- Portfolio Design Steering
- Underwriting Product Strategy and Profitability Measurement
- Technical Underwriting Guidance
- Pricing Models, Platforms and Analytics
- Risk Appetite deployment
- Ceded Reinsurance strategy design and purchasing
As part of the Global Chief Underwriting Office you will be an integral part of the Portfolio Management Process team, partnering directly with pricing, underwriting and executive management as we look to develop and deliver our strategic objectives. Building and implementing Portfolio Management Process across the organization is a strategic priority for AXA. By joining the PMP team, you will have the opportunity to understand how a strategic initiative is built and implemented in a global organization since its very beginning. It is a great opportunity for actuaries who have a solid technical background to be exposed to project management, stakeholders’ management, and change management.
Key Accountabilities
- Act as a key contributor to embed a common Portfolio Management Process (PMP) across AXA to drive technical excellence and purposeful portfolio creation through product strategy and pricing performance KPIs
- Collaborate across functions to execute on the PMP "North Star" incorporating Cycle Management and engage across all entities introducing the concept
- Collaborate across functions to define both key Metrics that will drive the Optimization Process and monitoring metrics to incorporate into the PMP Reporting
- For Pricing Metrics, detailing clear definitions with examples to drive consistency across all entities
- Identify the PMP components that exist in entities today and where there are material gaps in order to develop a short term (Tactical) PMP roadmap
- Develop and share existing standard templates to support the full PMP process in the short term
- Work closely with Group Underwriting, Group Tech, Data and Operations and the Entities to develop and implement Portfolio Management capabilities globally including the development of market-leading business intelligence and portfolio management dashboards to support data driven decision making
- Set new minimum PMP standards for entities to achieve on an annual basis
- Partner with Group Risk Management to support entities in granular allocation of capital components at sub portfolio/account level

Experience
- Fully Certified Actuary preferred
- Proven Portfolio Management experience
- Ability to directly influence strategy and portfolio management, as well as setting the technical culture.

- Proven experience in multicultural and multifaced, geographically spread teams.
