The Opportunity
This is your chance to drive innovation in the renewable energy and high voltage areas and contribute to projects that address climate change challenges. Our portfolio of work varies in scale, from providing techno-economic studies to help clients implement a renewable energy strategy and reduce dependency on non-renewable energies, to the design of high-voltage substations, access and connection projects for large consumers and data centres, and route options for high- and medium-voltage lines, among other services.
As An Energy Consultant At Arup, You Wil l
- Join and support the Energy team in delivering consulting services, particularly related to high voltage, transmission and distribution (T&D), substation design, and power system analysis.
- Develop innovative solutions providing advice, design, and planning support to major commercial, industrial, and institutional clients in the construction sector in Spain and worldwide.
- Work closely with other teams as the electrical sustainability teams and providing advisory services for energy generation, and full design, from viability studies to operation phase.

We Are Looking For Someone That Can Support The Delivery Of a Wide Range Of Projects While Helping Our Clients Meet Their Goals And Our Own Commitments To Contribute To The UN Sustainable Development Goals. Ideally, You’ll Bring
- Studies in Industrial Engineering, Energy Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar
- At least 4 years of experience in the previously listed tasks
- Experience in using and reviewing high voltage infrastructure designs and drawings specialized software (i.e., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, ETAP or PSSe, Autocad).
- Experience in using and reviewing building energy generation specialized software (i.e., PVsyst, Helioscope, Homer, etc)
- Some knowledge of power systems (especially substations and equipment)
- Interest in technical and/or regulatory aspects of energy efficiency and sustainability in building
- Fluency in Spanish and English (C1 level)
Bonus Points If You Bring
- Master’s degree in electrical engineering or energy.
- Interest in renewable and distributed energy resources (i.e., photovoltaic solar energy, biomass, battery storage, thermal energy storage).
- Interest in sustainable energy provision (i.e., PPAs, Renewable Energy Certificates, green tariffs).
- Other languages such as French, Portuguese, or Italian would also be valuable.
- Interest in Access and Connection procedures, permits, grid code compliance, or related services.
