The Role
As a UX writer, you’ll be a key member of the Verisure Global Design Team, reporting to the UI design manager and working closely with the senior UX writer. The role will be based in our R&D centre in Madrid, Spain, and some European travel will be required. You’ll be responsible for planning, researching, developing, refining, and documenting modern and compelling UX copy that aligns with the design objectives and goals of Verisure. In short, you’ll manage your own content production, seeing it through from inception to localization and release to our customers. Every day, your content will reach hundreds of thousands of people across our markets in Europe and South America. More specifically, you’ll write English source content for our consumer web and app, supported by modern design and localization tools. The content length will vary from a single word to paragraphs, ranging from modals, buttons, home screens, tutorials, and help. The challenge is often to capture a message in as few words as possible, creating clear, scannable, consistent, and translatable content. Another aspect of your role is coordinating and supporting the translators across our markets, ensuring they have what they need to localize your content with maintained quality. You'll work with the senior UX writer to develop and improve our UX writing and localization processes.
What you’ll be doing
• Contribute to shaping new product and service experiences from early concept explorations to detailed content solutions across our digital portfolio including web, app, and proprietary interfaces.
• Work with senior UX writer, proposition managers, and product owners to define the digital content structure for new products and services.
• Work with product owners, developers, QA engineers, and other stakeholders to balance technical and business requirements for content with customer needs.
• Research, analyze, and simplify technical information. Iteratively prototyping and testing content solutions, using low and high-fidelity tools in collaboration with interaction designers as needed.
• Hand over and present content designs, motivate content decisions, support the IT organization during development, and validate the implementation.
• Coordinate translators and oversee content localization, planning and tracking content work to meet release deadlines. Help shape and improve our UX writing and localization processes.
• Work with the senior UX writer and other stakeholders to make tactical and strategic content decisions. Contribute to content templates and patterns, guidelines, and glossaries.
• Identify and drive continuous audits of existing content to improve the overall user experience. Identify and use metrics to guide and structure this process.
• Work with other team members to uncover insights and identify opportunities, for example, by participating in pre-studies, workshops, UX requirement mapping, prototyping activities, etc.
• Follow trends and industry best practices and use this knowledge to evolve content design when and where appropriate.
• As an expert in consumer communication, you may be asked to advise on and review product manuals and other content created by different teams.

We think you have
• 3+ years of experience working with user-centric content design, preferably focusing on UX copy.
• A university degree (preferably a BA or BS) in an appropriate discipline such as communication, copywriting, journalism, linguistics, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or any other related communication or design field.
• Documented experience in creating and managing content using a commercially available content management system, localization software, or software design tool. Some understanding of web and app code is beneficial.
• Experience in using research insights to inform content decisions and directions.
• Familiar working with design systems and content guidelines.
• Preferably knowledge about accessibility and internationalization principles.
• Experience working with developers and designers to turn design concepts into release-worthy products.
• Experience working with modern project management methodologies (e.g., agile, lean UX).
• Native proficiency in English is required, both written and spoken. Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred.
• Experience in home security and smart home technologies is a plus, as well as the ability to see possible future developments and use cases.
