Role
We are currently looking for an experienced environmental planner who brings expertise in the environmental scope (feasibility, impact assessment, permitting, monitoring, due diligence) of land development, building and industrial projects in Spain. The focus of the role is to support our environment local team in Madrid, as well as contributing to the successful delivery of projects across Europe.
The Person Will Be Involved In The Following Tasks
- Preparing documentation for environmental planning and permitting (SEA, EIA, IEA)
- Participating in the processing of the environmental documentation
- Providing environmental inputs to design projects.
- Support the business leaders to secure a strong pipeline of work in Spain
Minimum Requirements
- Degree qualified in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Forest Engineering, Ecology or equivalent qualification.
- 6-10 years of experience in the Spanish environmental planning and permitting regulatory framework, requirements and stakeholders, private and public.
- Experience the development and processing of environmental planning documentation (Strategic Environmental assessment (Evaluación Ambiental Estratégica - EAE) and Environmental Impact assessment (Estudios de Impacto Ambiental - EIA) of projects in Spain.
- Collaborative and team-player approach for working closely with our urban planning, design and engineering colleagues.
- Fluent in English and Spanish.
Valuable Requirements
- Experience in managing stakeholders and negotiating with public administration bodies: river basing authorities (Confederaciones hidrográficas), cattle track authorities (Vías Pecuarias), natural environment (Medio natural), forestry authorities (Montes)…
- Experience in industrial sites and Integrated Environmental Authorization (Autorización Ambiental Integrada).
- Experience in environmental monitoring duties during construction and operation phases of projects, undertaking site visits in Spain and internationally.
- Knowledge in biodiversity / ecology.
