Team context
Within the Global Service Operations department, the Database product team is in charge of database management. We are responsible of the database infrastructure. Our mission is to provide reliable database services by covering the whole DB lifecycle. We support our customers on the move to the cloud journey. We manage both deployment through projects and maintenance in operational condition. We also have an advisory role on Database strategy.
Our team consists of 15 persons and has a global setup and includes DBAs in seven countries. In the team we deliver Microsoft SQL Server, MongoDB and Db2 LUW on various platforms (from legacy on premise to PaaS services).
The position described here will first focus on MongoDB Atlas, but involvement with other products is possible.
Main objectives
Database Engineering (FOCUS)
- Contribute to the development and elaboration of AXA IT standards
- Setup and maintain documentation
- Automate, industrialize and improve the functioning of the Database infrastructure, using scripting and automation tools
- Participate in developing new services
- Get involved in Security and Audit topics
- Evaluate new features and DB related products
Specific tasks:
- Develop and maintain an automation framework for the MongoDB Atlas API
- Develop and maintain automation based on the MongoDB Atlas API using JavaScript on Node.js
- Some examples:
- Develop reporting capabilities and data provisioning
- Integration with external provisioning tools providing self-service capabilities.
Database Operations & Support
- Support & consult customers with using database PaaS services
- Support customer projects like migration to database PaaS services
- Support the operation team with technical expertise
- Take responsibility for complex operational topics.
Your Profile
Technical MUST:
- Development experience in infrastructure as code and automation ;
- Experience with a database PaaS: e.g. MongoDB Atlas, Azure DB, DocumentDB, …
Technical SHOULD:
- Familiarity with Agile methods, Jira, ServiceNow
- JavaScript, Node.js
- Terraform
Technical COULD:
- Monitoring with Dynatrace
- Additional experience in other Database management systems
- Puppet
Transversal skills:
- Experience with working in a complex international environment
- Ability to develop innovative concepts and ideas
- Experience in change management. (ITIL methodology)
- Willingness to show initiative and proactivity, to be rigorous and responsive
- Have a strong sense of service delivery and communication
- Openness to work in a global, international team
- Be able to work autonomously
